www.itn.lk හට නිවන් සැප ලැබේවා! (ITN වෙබ් අඩවියේ “අල” කතා වස්තුව)
අද උදේ පාන්දර පුවත්පත් මඟින් ජාතික නිදහස් දින සමරුව සම්බන්ද තොරතුරු කියවන විට ඒ සෑම එකකින්ම කියවූයේ මෙවර නිදහස් උළෙල ඉතාමත් අභිමානවත් අන්දමින් පැවැත් වූ බවයි.
ඉතින් ඒ නිසාම www.itn.lk වෙත යොමුවූයේ නිදහස් දින වැඩහටහන අයත් පුවත් විකාශණය නැරඹීමටයි. ITN රූපවාහිනි නාලිකාවේ පුවත් ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමත්, ඉදිරිපත් කරන පුවත් වල ප්රමුඛතාවය කිසිසේත්ම අනුමත නොකලද, ගුවන් හමුදා සංදර්ශණය සහිත නිදහස් දින සමරුව ප්රවෘත්ති විකාශය තුලින් දැක ගැනීමට තිබූ උවමනාව නිසාම (ප්රතිපත්තියක් ලෙස කොටි-සිරස නොබලන නිසාත්) ITN නාලිකාවේ ප්රවෘත්ති විකාශය අන්තර්ජාලය ඔස්සේ බලාගැනීමට එම අඩවිය වෙත යොමු විය.
එහෙත් කණගාටුදායක ලෙස www.itn.lk වෙබ් අඩවිය අල වී තිබීම මා පුදුමයට මෙන්ම ලැජ්ජාවටද පත්වීමි. එනම් රජයේ ප්රධානතම රූපවාහිනි නාලිකාවක වෙබ් අඩවිය host කර ඇත්තේ විදෙස් hosting සමාගමක වීමත්. එම hosting සමාගමට මුදල් නොගෙවීම නිසා හෝ යම් කරුණක් නිසා www.itn.lk වෙබ් අඩවිය සඳහා වන පහසුකම් අත්හිට වීමත්ය. www.itn.lk වෙත පිවිසෙන විට ඔබව යොමුකරවනු ලබන්නේ ගිණුම අත්සිටුවා තිබෙන වෙබ් පිටුවකටය.

මොවුන් මුදල් නොගෙවීම නිසා මෙම වෙබ් අඩවිය අත්හිටුවා තිබේ නම් එය ඉතාමත් ලජ්ජා සහගත තත්වයක් මෙන්ම මොවුන්ගේ නොසැලකිලිමත් කම කදිමට කියා පාන්නකි. සාමාන්යයෙන් ඉදිරි වසර සඳහා මුදල් නොගෙවා ඇති විටෙක , අදාල web hosting ආයතනය මඟින් සේවය අත්හිටවීමට ප්රථම ඒ සම්බන්ධව දැනුම් දීම් කරනු ලබයි. සිදුවී තිබෙන දෙයින් ගම්ය වන දෙය නම් ITN ආයතනය තුල මේ සම්බන්ධ අදාල බලධාරීන් නිසි ලෙස කටයූතු කර නොමැති බවයි.
වෙනත් කරුනක් නිසා මෙම වියුණ අල වී තිබේ නම් ඉන් හැඟෙන්නේ , මොවුන් සතුව නිසි contingency සැලැස්මක් නොමැති බවයි. මෙහෙදී තවත් කරුණක් පැන නගිනවා, එනම් රාජ්ය ආයතන වල වෙබ් අඩවි අල කිරීම සඳහා නම් දරා තිබෙන , මහජන මුදල් කාබාසිනියා කරමින් පරපෝෂිත ජීවිතයක් ගත කරන ICTA ආයතනය සතුව රාජ්ය ආයතන වල වෙබ් අඩවි නිසි කලමණා කාරීත්වයක් සහ *සම්බන්ධීකරනයක්* තුලින් එක් සේවාදායකය් තුල දේශීයව Host කිරීමට ක්රියා නොකර තිබෙන්නේ ඇයිද යන්නයි.
මා මෙහිදී කියන්නේ ICTA ආයතනය web hosting කරන ආයතනයක් බවට පත්විය යුතු බව නොවේ. 
මා මෙහෙ සඳහන් කරන්නේ, සියළුම රාජ්ය වෙබ් අඩවි දේශීයව , සේවා දායකයක් තුල Host කිරීමට ජාතික ප්රතිපත්තියක් සැකසීමේ අවශ්යතාවයයි. නමුත් දැන් තිබෙන තත්වය නම් හරියට මෙන්න මේ වගේ:
දුන්න දුනුගමුවේ
ඊතල කිතලගමුවේ
රාල මීගමුවේ
මුවෙක් පැන්නයි සබරගමුවේ

Do you honestly think ICT can organize such a thing? Still some of the government name cards carry yahoo and hotmail email address. If there is no such a thing call ICT, our IT infrastructure could have been so much better. At least I have reason to think that way.
It is perfectly alright to host a site outside SL, considering the bandwidth limits we have in SL. I don’t know if it is really a payment issue. Sometimes hosting companies suspend account base on the heavy load of traffic too.

සමහර විට නිදහස් දවසෙ වැඩසටහන් බලන්න කට්ටිය ගොඩක් ඇවිත් bandwidth එක ඉවරම කරල දාපු නිසා වුනාද දන්නෙත් නෑ.
කොහොම වුනත් ITN එක මීට වඩා තමන්ගෙ සයිට් එක ගැන සැලකිලිමත් වෙන්න ඕනෙ…

exactly .. i agree with what you say, you can’t expect any better of ICTA other than their periodic comics.
however, it’s very important for us to host these servers locally, due to a number of reasons:
- we have control over the server, managing them, if they’re hosted locally. when things go wrong, at least we could do something without waiting on a third-party who’s again located in a different TZ
- most of the content what itn offers are in sinhala, so it’s important to server the people who live in sri lanka first, before reaching the world. locals will get faster response time when the servers are hosted locally
- at the same time i have noticed some commercial websites hosted at slt and i have accessed them from a number of overseas countries and they’re pretty good. (i’m not talking about the government sites.. which are pathetic)
- yes, we need to improve our infrastructure at first ..ie bandwidth and coverage ..

you can’t expect anything from pro ltte Sirasa folks on our national day. our independence day doesn’t make any sense to them at all….
